Screentest, in partnership with the Roxy Bar & Screen is hosting the Screentest Student Social: a 100% free-of-charge event for students who make and who enjoy film!

So what happens? Well, in short…

• A 30-minute programme of student short films
• An open-mic event to pitch your upcoming projects to other student creatives.
• Contests
• Drinks and Networking

Essentially, the Screentest Student Social is born out of the idea that making film is a HUGE collaborative process. We should all help each other achieve success. It’s an opportunity for sound designers to meet cinematographers, directors to meet actors, producers to meet directors, directors to meet editors, etcetera etcetera, you get the idea. We all have our particular skills, and no matter what they are, we should be collaborating! So, bring your portfolio. Or just bring your best gift-of-gab. The idea is to meet other students who are interested in the same thing as you: being involved creatively with film.

Here’s a familiar scenario: ”Joe Blow just made a 2-minute short, but needs some soundtrack.” BOOM, pitch your film at the Screentest Student Social, and hopefully you can meet someone who wants to collaborate. Simple as that. And that’s what this event is all about.

So, if this sounds like your thing, come along! If nothing else, just enjoy some good company around fellow creatives with some fava beans and a nice chianti. …or a white russian, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.
