>> BAFTA Nominated Short ‘The Voorman Problem’ - Friday 22nd March <<
Synopsis:
Doctor Williams is called in to examine the enigmatic Mr Voorman, a prisoner with a peculiar affliction: he believes he is a god. The doctor must decide on the sanity of Mr Voorman: is he a faker or a lunatic? “Voorman is a prisoner who maintains he is a god.”
Diagnose him insane and they can ship him off to the asylum. But before making a decision, the doctor has several questions in relation to Voorman’s claim: why would a god choose to be straitjacketed in a prison, is there a way he can validate his boast and what has any of this got to do with Belgium?

>> Student Crap Film Club <<
We’ve all made them, folks. Our early film work is so bad, it’s funny! There is no shame. Let’s face it, if we don’t laugh, we’d cry. But hopefully, we’ll laugh so hard we WILL cry. It’s called humility. We can celebrate the joy of making mistakes. It’s a learning experience, and it’s funny! Starting things off, festival director Chris Nunn is sticking some of his own early crap to screen. So, let’s all come together and basque in crap. That’s not something you hear every day, is it?
This event is inspired by our friends at London’s very own Crap Film Club.

>> SPECIAL SCREENING: ‘Hula Girl’ - Saturday 23rd March <<
Produced by Mark Bull and Directed by Joe Toms-Ashcroft, students from Sheffield Hallam University. This is a special screening of a near 30 minute documentary - not quite a feature film nor a short film. We like to think it fits nicely in-between. This is a fascinating road trip documentary that can be compared to Catfish or Morgan Spurlock docs.
Synopsis:
Hula Girl is a documentary come road movie that follows two friends from Sheffield as they travel across America in search of a woman who posts hula hooping videos online.

We at Screentest like to wax nostalgic. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried (we mostly cried), but dammit, do we love the yesteryear. We will be screening the award winning films from Screentest 2011 and 2012. These gems still, year after year, deserve to be seen!
